The announcement of a new season
Animated by Yumeta Company and Graphinica, the Japanese manga written by Reiko Yoshida and illustrated by Mia Ikumi is all set to come back with season 2 in April 2023. The news came up with a Twitter announcement from the series’ official page and a teaser to celebrate the confirmation was also attested along. Season one of the manga adaption debuted on July 6, 2022, for a total of twelve episodes which ran until September 21, 2022. The announcement for Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 came along with the finale episode of the first season.

In any way, the ending of season 1 has explained the upcoming season clearly but as we have numerous such series waiting for renewal the official confirmation was surely appeasing though the exact date for the season 2 premiere is still not known.
The upcoming April premier is likely to celebrate the conclusion of the original TV series which started airing in 2002 and for a year. The season 2 debut is also going to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Nakayoshi, the monthly magazine of Kodansha in which Tokyo Mew Mew was published for seven volumes.

As the cast of season one is involved in the upcoming promotional events we can guess that the Smewthies will represent the five protagonists again in the upcoming season 2. In the last season we had Yuki Tenma playing the lead role of Ichigo Momomiya while Ryoko Juni played the role of Lettuce Midorikawa, Mirai Hinata voiced Minto Aizawa, and Momoka Ishii and Rian Toda gave voices to Zakuro Fujiwara and Pudding Fong respectively. Hopefully, Yumeta Company and Graphinica will continue to represent the series for the anime adaptation.

Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2 will like its predecessor would premier on TV Tokyo from April 2023 while for other regions outside Japan, the season will be available on the streaming platform HIDIVE as Sentai Filmworks holds the rights for the series airing outside Asia.
If you haven’t watched season 1 yet then HIDIVE has all twelve episodes to binge watch and obviously, the second season will be of no use until you have the predecessor pending.
Tokyo Mew Mew New: Until Now
The series made its debut in July 2022 and has been marked as the rebooted version of the TV series produced by TV Aichi, We’ve Inc., Tokyu Agency, and Studio Pierrot. The original TV series aired on TXN affiliates from April 6, 2002, to March 29, 2003, for a total of fifty-two episodes. The one-year run has been marked with critic acclamation for the cute and entertaining presentation having “free-flowing style and character designs”.
The manga series is about five girls having unique abilities and powers after being imbued with DNAs from endangered species. The girls being able to turn into Mew Mews have a mission to save the earth from the aliens who are there to reclaim the planet. Ichigo Momomiya leads the group with the super agility and other powers she gets after the infusion of DNA from the Iriomote wildcat.

Well, both series are adapted from the same Manga series which was serialized by Kodansha so there are similarities to a great extent.
