Amber Davis was a star of the Netflix show Swap Shop, which follows antique collectors and shop owners who race to find the best deals on the radio show of the same name. Amber was the wife of Richard Davis, who runs Nirvana Comics in Knoxville, Tennessee. Amber was also a comic book lover, a Dungeons and Dragons player, and a dog owner. How did Amber Davis die?
According to Nirvana Comics Knoxville’s Instagram page, Amber went for kidney transplant surgery in December 2020. But she could not fully recover from the surgery and sadly passed away. Her exact cause of death was a pulmonary thrombo-embolism, which is a blood clot in the lungs. This was confirmed by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office after an autopsy and a series of toxicology tests were performed.
How did Swap Shop honor Amber Davis?
Swap Shop Season 2, which was released on Netflix in November 2021, featured Amber in some of the episodes. The show also paid tribute to her in the credits, with a message that read: “In loving memory of Amber Davis”. Garin Dickerson, who appeared on the show with Richard and Amber, shared his emotions on Instagram, saying: “I know we are all excited to see the Amber we know and love in this show — I know we are all going to have some pretty big feels when we do.”
