Vinland Saga: Season 1 Synopsis
Ever since his childhood, Thorfinn heard about the land of Vikings, Vinland through old sailors who had traveled the oceans and reached this legendary place. According to legends, the place is warm and fertile, where there is no need for fighting. This was something new to the Icelander Thorfinn.
War is his home here, though his father, Thors explained how he had no enemies, and nobody does have one. The truth began to peek out as the war between England and Danes worsened with each passing year.
The commonplace of deaths now have Thorfinn on the edge where Vikings stand as the mercenaries. Whichever side they choose, has the higher proportion of powers.
Now Thorfinn has to make his move and kill his father’s murderer, Askeladd, the same Viking whose troop he has joined. Season 1 will give you the answer to the outcome of this craving for revenge.

Expected Plot for Season 2
By the end of Vinland Saga Season 1, we saw Askeladd grabbing his sword and killing the King of the Danes. He did this to fulfill his motives of preserving his home country of Wales and helping Canute, the young prince, pursue his dream of becoming the king. Fans were taken aback as Askeladd’s sacrifice was a shocker to everyone.
This was indeed shocking as Askeladd’s death put a stop to Thorfinn’s years-old revenge plans. Thorfinn wanted to avenge his father, Thors’ death, for which he trained hard in Askeladd’s troop of rampaging Vikings.
The season finale showed how Thorfinn was still not up to the mark of killing his father’s murderer and restoring his family’s reputation. Danish king was set to attack Wales and Askeladd having no option left kills the king and gets stabbed. Thorfinn gets stunned by the death of the man who was responsible for his father’s death.
Season 2 is set to follow Thorfinn’s trail where he has to look for a motive in his life and has to continue with some new fights against his enemies. The whole plot is yet a secret but will surely show Thorfinn getting stronger and more mature, and gaining control over his anger.
