The God Of High School Season 2 Release Date; Is The Anime Renewed?

INTRODUCTION

Who doesn’t love to read comics right? Now for us otakus, we know that as other countries have comics, Korea has its manhwa. The more time passes by Japan adapts anime from its encyclopedia of manga (Japanese comic type stuff). But what if somebody shows interest in adapting the manhwa? pretty cool right? Then you’ll find the famous adaptation of the more famous manhwa ” The God Of High School”, written by Park Yongji also cool. Despite being infamous for making manhwa adaptations kinda awkward, Crunchyroll released this action-stuffed martial arts anime and of course gained popularity in no time as they kept the storyline almost (not that almost) the same with manhwa and was able to keep up to the fans’ expectation. And now the fans are demanding a God Of High School Season 2.

ABOUT THIS ANIME

Aside from those who already read the manhwa (IK you’re laughing that there’s no way that somebody won’t read it after you’ve seen what the anime is), let’s discuss what it actually shows. This 13-episode-long anime features the brilliant animation style of MAPPA famous for legendary “Yuri!!! on Ice”, “Attack on Titan”, “Dororo” and more animes, spotlights 17-year-old Jin Mori, a high school student, who was born as a martial arts prodigy and trained by his legendary grandpa Jin Tae Jin and his companions, blessed by the powers of mythical creatures and Gods (want me to say the name?) to participate in a tournament hosted by a corporation that intends to pick up the most powerful one from all of them who’ll be titled as ” The God Of High School” and will be granted a single wish… No matter what it is. Now after getting their expectations fulfilled, fans are itching for the god of high school season 2.

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE OF GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL SEASON 2

Now as we long-term anime watchers know, animes having another season depends on some crucial factors, like if the anime is enough popular, does it have enough manga/manhwa materials left (RIP Kentaro Miura) or is there any studio or producer interested to take initiative ( Sayonara “No Game No Life”). as the first two factors are in good terms for the god of high school it is okay to expect a “The God Of High School season 2”.

It is kinda unfortunate to say, but we don’t have any official update from Crunchyroll regarding a second season. But as the first season was aired in the summer of 2020 and continued for 2 months, we can say that the next season might be aired sometime in 2022, knowing how the anime industry works.

CAST AND CREW FOR THE GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL SEASON 2

Now as the three musketeers weren’t dead yet as they are ‘three musketeers’, we’ll of course see Jin Mo Ri voiced by Tachibana Tatsumaru, Han Dae Wi voiced by Kumagai Kentarou, and Yu Mi Ra voiced by Ohashi Ayaka. Other important characters like Park Mugen voiced by Namikawa Daisuke and Park Il Pyo voiced by Uchiyama Kouki will also have their reprisal and not to spoil anything, but if the anime follows the manhwa properly, you’re gonna see a lot more new faces.

RECAP OF SEASON 1

[ALERT! SPOILERS AHEAD THAT’LL  MAKE YOU BREAK THE DEVICE YOU’RE READING ON]

Season 1 follows and completes the tournament arc of the manhwa. In the last part, we could see fighter Taek gets a transformation which makes him a God and this event unleashes our Jin Mo Ri’s transformation which makes him realize that he’s actually 1000 y/o great monkey king Wukong (then I understood why that movie was called king kong) and tables him to use his powers including summoning his staff Ruyi Jingu. Then he defeats Taek who was ultimately transformed into a monster and becomes “The God Of High School.”

ANTICIPATED PLOT FOR THE GOD OF HIGH SCHOOL SEASON 2

the end of the tournament arc also leaves a clue about what’s gonna happen next season. Dae wi and Mi Ra suggests Mo Ri set off a journey to his homeland in order to regain all of his lost memories as a God. So we can get the idea that we’ll be able to see them roaming through the space and time of Gods in God Of High School Season 2
