She called 911, but it was too late. Static was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner’s report revealed that Static’s cause of death was “mixed prescription drug with alcohol toxicity”, according to Billboard and Loudwire. The report also stated that he had a history of prescription drug abuse, and that he had been prescribed oxycodone, hydromorphone, temazepam, alprazolam (Xanax), zolpidem (Ambien), buprenorphine (Suboxone), fentanyl (Duragesic), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), carisoprodol (Soma), acetyl fentanyl (a synthetic opioid), and alcohol.
The Legacy of Wayne Static
Static’s death sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from his fans and peers in the music industry. Many expressed their shock and sadness at losing such a talented and influential musician. Some also lamented the prevalence of addiction and overdose among rock stars, and urged others to seek help if they were struggling with similar issues.
