Early Life and Career
Peter Brown was born as Pierre Lynn de Lappe on October 5, 1935 in New York City. He moved to the West Coast with his family and studied drama at UCLA. He got his break in Hollywood when he met studio chief Jack Warner at a gas station and landed a contract with Warner Brothers.
He appeared in several films for the studio, such as Darby’s Rangers, Merrill’s Marauders, and The Young Philadelphians. He also starred in two popular TV westerns, Lawman and Laredo, playing the roles of Deputy Johnny McKay and Texas Ranger Chad Cooper, respectively.
Later Roles and Personal Life
After his contract with Warner Brothers expired, Brown worked for other studios and appeared in films such as Summer Magic, Kitten With a Whip, and Foxy Brown. He also had a long career in soap operas, such as Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
Brown was married five times and had three children. His fifth and last wife was Kerstin Kern, whom he married in 2008. He died on March 21, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 80. The cause of his death was Parkinson’s disease, according to his family.
