The Classified Past of Howard Stark
Before we get to Stiles, we need to go back to his grandfather, Howard Stark. Howard was not only a brilliant inventor and businessman, but also a secret agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the covert organization founded by Leonardo da Vinci to protect the world from all kinds of threats. Howard worked alongside Nathaniel Richards, the father of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. Together, they faced dangers such as Celestials and Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds.
Howard was also involved in the Manhattan Project, the real-world endeavor to create the world’s first nuclear weapons. He was one of the few people who knew about the existence of the Tesseract, a powerful cosmic cube that contained an Infinity Stone. He used the Tesseract to create new technologies and weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D. and Stark Industries.
However, Howard’s greatest achievement was also his greatest burden: his family. Howard struggled with alcoholism and was a harsh and demanding father to his son Tony. He expected Tony to follow in his footsteps and become a genius inventor and leader. He rarely showed affection or approval to Tony, who grew up feeling insecure and rebellious.

But what if I told you that Tony Stark was not Howard’s biological son? That’s right, Tony was actually adopted by Howard and Maria when he was a baby. The truth was revealed to Tony by a rogue Rigellian Recorder named 451, who had a hidden agenda involving Tony’s destiny.
According to 451, Tony’s real parents were two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents named Jude and Amanda Armstrong, who were killed in action when Tony was an infant. 451 had manipulated their DNA to create a child who would be capable of activating an ancient alien device called the Godkiller, which could destroy entire planets. 451 planned to use Tony as a weapon against his enemies.
However, Howard Stark intervened and adopted Tony before 451 could get to him. He raised Tony as his own son, but also kept him under surveillance and experimented on him to find out what made him special. He never told Tony the truth about his origins or his potential.
Tony was shocked and angry when he learned about his real parents and 451’s scheme. He rejected 451’s offer to join him and activate the Godkiller. He also confronted Howard’s hologram, which had been programmed by 451 to reveal everything to Tony when he was ready. Tony accused Howard of lying to him and using him as a guinea pig. Howard apologized and said he loved Tony as his own son.
Tony decided to accept his adoptive parents as his real family, but also wanted to honor his biological parents’ memory. He changed his legal name from Anthony Edward Stark to Anthony Edward Armstrong-Stark.
The Surprising Connection Between Stiles and Tony

John Hale was Derek Hale’s older brother and Laura Hale’s younger brother. He belonged to the Hale pack, one of the oldest and most powerful werewolf packs in America. He fell in love with Claudia and decided to leave his pack and become a human for her sake. He changed his name to John Stilinski and became a sheriff.
Claudia and John got married and had a son, whom they named Mieczyslaw, after Claudia’s grandfather. They nicknamed him Stiles, after his maternal great-grandfather. Stiles inherited his mother’s intelligence and curiosity, and his father’s bravery and loyalty. He also inherited a latent spark of magic from his werewolf ancestry.
Claudia and John never told Stiles about his true heritage or his connection to Tony Stark. They wanted to protect him from the dangers of the supernatural world and S.H.I.E.L.D. They also wanted him to have a normal life as a human.

Stiles’ secret was finally exposed when Tony Stark came to Beacon Hills to recruit him for the Avengers Initiative. Tony had learned about Stiles’ existence from Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who had been keeping tabs on him for years. Tony wanted to meet his half-brother and offer him a place in his team of superheroes.
