HONOR Band 6 Review: Definitely Better But Might Not Be The Best

Honor is likely one of the greatest smartphone companies that also make wearables its smartwatches are rich and affordable, and its fitness trackers are excellent low-cost health and training devices.

What you need to know about the Honor Band 6

If you’re looking for a low-cost fitness tracker, the Honor Band 6 offers a lot of health and fitness features at a reasonable price.

Honor’s Honor Band 6 is a low-cost fitness tracker with a big screen and rudimentary smartwatch functionality.

It provides more than the bare-bones experience for people trying to better their health, with a SpO2 sensor and stress management features.

However, there are a lot of flaws, bugs, and omissions that keep this from being a serious candidate for budget-conscious fitness enthusiasts.

Although Huawei sold Honor in November 2020, the Honor Band 6 promotes itself as a “transitional” device, even going so far as to rely on the Huawei Health app as previous models have done.

Thus, not a tremendous amount has changed since 2019’s Honor Band 5. The larger screen is by far the most significant improvement over the previous-generation tracker.

This represents a significant increase from the previous 0.95 inches to the brand-new 1.47 inch. The screen is also curved, AMOLED, and extremely brilliant — a unique feature for a low-cost gadget.

Aside from that, you’ll find all of the features you’d expect. An optical heart rate sensor, auto activity recognition, sleep and step tracking, 5ATM water resistance, and basic smartwatch capabilities are all included.

However, there is still no GPS functionality built-in. The Honor Band 6 is now available for purchase on Amazon in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

From April 2021, it will be available for purchase at the official HiHonor store. The Honor Band 6 costs $63.99, which is a slight increase over the Honor Band 5 ($34.99).

It’s now difficult to purchase straight from Honor’s website in the United States and the United Kingdom, but you can get it for that price via Amazon.

However, it appears that, at least with the Band 6, it is still following Huawei’s design approach. To get things set up, it uses the same software and the Huawei Health companion app.

Specifications

The smartwatch functions are simple but effective. They are essentially viewing notifications. However, because of the large screen, this is a pleasant experience.

Notifications were consistent (more so than on some other smartphones), and the huge screen real estate allowed me to read a lot of content.

You’ll get a black 43mm case that’s 11mm thick and weighs only 18g. This is matched with a non-removable strap that comes in black, grey, or pink color options.

You’ll be able to take advantage of all of these benefits for a long time. That’s because of a 14-day battery that, even with repeated exercise sessions and 24-hour heart rate monitoring, delivers on its promise.

Is the band’s low price worth it? While it is undoubtedly a budget band, it initially retailed for a higher price than the Honor Band 5, though it quickly dropped to a level well below that of its predecessor.
