Yes, we are talking about the Goblin Slayer, who has collected so many admirers with its exceptional storyline and characters. Goblin Slayer is a dark fantasy anime series in Japanese Anime Culture. The series firstly appeared on the screens in the fall season of the year 2018. In this article, we are about to discuss the next installment of the anime that is Goblin Slayer Season 2.
Goblin Slayer is again based on a very popular light novel written by Kumo Kagyu, illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki, and published by SB Creative in 2016. It has now published more than 7 million copies and counting. White Fox has animated the anime of the light novel series, which is known for producing popular anime such as Re: Zero-Starting Life in Another World and Arifureta.
AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11 have broadcasted Goblin Slayer originally between 7th October 2018 and 30th December 2018. The anime series gained global audiences with Crunchyroll. Now, almost 3 years have passed since the time the first season aired. And now, the fans are in a curious search for any updates about Goblin Slayer Season 2.

What is Goblin Slayer about?
The show is about a lone hero who kills the goblins for saving humankind. Mankind has been in a huge battle with various kinds of monsters for a very long time. They are so much used to the battle and wars now. For those people, who want to be a part of this chaos, there is a chain of adventures where everyone could accept a hunt and fight with monsters for a reward.
Among all the monsters, Goblins are considered to be the weakest creatures to fight with. This makes the rewards minimal for killing them. Goblins don’t remain in groups, are not smart, and lack any strategy or plan whatsoever and that’s why are easy to kill. Although, the case is the exact opposite in this story.
The Goblins in this series are much larger, powerful, deadlier, and smarter than their small and stupid brothers. They all together create a power that is even able to trouble the experienced adventurers. The issue here is, that only some of them know and understand this. And then enters the Goblin Slayer named Orcbolg, or Beardcutter. He for some reason only accepts goblin-slaying quests. The story of this mystery is shown in the series.
The Goblin Slayer also saves a Priestess from the seizure of the Goblins and kills them all. The priestess becomes his friend seeing the goblin slayer’s deed. The series later shows the several journeys taken by the slayer and the priestess for destroying more and more Goblins. And they also become successful in killing the Goblin King eventually.
What could we see in Goblin Slayer Season 2?
In the second season, we could probably witness the narrative which follows the priestess’ narration earlier. We will most likely see many more of the adventures of the Goblin Slayer and also, where his destiny is going to take him. Goblin Slayer Season 2 is also going to be equally, or more interesting and enthralling than the first season of Goblin Slayer.
Source Material for Goblin Slayer Season 2
The series is based on a sequence of light novels with the same name. The first light novel was released in Japan on 15th February 2016 and the English version on 20th December 2016. Since then, the number of light novels released has become 15 and 13 of them are available in English.
Besides the main light novel series, two spin-off novel series have also been released by Kagyu. The first novel series by the name “Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One” and the second one by the name “Goblin Slayer Side Story: Daikatana of Singing Death”. They both become the prequel to the main light novel series and show the journey of Goblin Slayer becoming an adventurer.
The first season of Goblin Slayer covered the first two light novels and the series has released at least two light novels in consecutive years between 2017 and 2020. Thus we can be relieved that the storyline of the anime won’t die out.
What is the release date of Goblin Slayer Season 2?
The makers have just officially announced and confirmed that the show is returning with a Goblin Slayer Season 2. The news was updated on GA Bunko’s 15th anniversary. It was said that the anime series was in production. No announcement about the date of release or possible date of release has been done since then.
It has been one year since the confirmation announcement was done. Thus, it is most likely that the anime is almost complete or near completion. So we might have the release date at the end of this year. Also, a poster has been released by the studio for the series, which is visually astonishing.
