The reports had suggested that every season of Dark Winds will follow a new storyline from Tony Hillerman’s novels. However, Dark Winds Season 2 is expected to pick up the story from the season 1 finale, HózhóoNaasháa released on July 17. The episode was written by Maya Rose Dittloff and follows Leaphorn, Chee, and Manuelito descending on a hiding place of Buffalo Society but are confronted by hard decisions that can change the outcome of their lives forever.
Hence the beginning episode of season 2 can continue this story and can connect a sub-plot or cliffhanger and continue it in the main storyline for the rest of the season.
