One of Amazon Prime Video’s hidden gems turned out to be the fantasy series Carnival Row. The steampunk television series, which starred Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom, had its eight-episode debut in August 2019 and introduced us to a dark Victorian-style dystopian world torn apart by war and species division. However, it is evident from the ending that the epic story is far from over. Fans of Carnival Row are eager to watch Carnival Row Season 2, and it has thankfully been renewed for a second season.

Carnival Row Season 2 Production Updates
Yes! Fans anticipate the release of Carnival Row Season 2 soon due to its early renewal in 2019, but the series experienced numerous setbacks following COVID-19 last year. The coronavirus pandemic forced the suspension of production, which had begun in November 2019, and in March 2020.
In contrast, Amazon had not yet disclosed a precise release date when the production team started preparing to pick up shooting in the first week of May. As soon as production resumed in May 2021 in the Czech Republic to film the final scenes starring Orlando Bloom, who was unavailable last year due to the birth of his first child with Katy Perry, it was reported that the show would be finished in just three weeks. It didn’t take long to finish filming, but it would take more time to finish post-production for the highly regarded series.
Tamzin Merchant, who plays Imogen Spurnrose on the show, acknowledged that only five of the eight episodes had been completed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in February 2021.
Carnival Row Season 2 Release Date
Fans will now have to wait a little bit longer than expected. It was previously said to release in August 2022.
Carnival Row Season 2 will debut on the streaming platform on February 17, 2023, according to an announcement made by Amazon Studios on November 9, 2022.
CGI work will be required in great quantity, and its completion will probably take several months. If Amazon chooses to broadcast the series at some point in 2023, it wouldn’t be unexpected.
Carnival Row Season 2 weekly release date has not yet been specified by Amazon. The Expanse and The Boys are two examples of the media behemoth’s forays into it.
The Cast of the upcoming season
For the second season of Carnival Row, the majority of the original cast is anticipated to return.
- Orlando Bloom as Rycroft Philostrate
- Simon McBurney as Runyon Millworthy
- David Gyasi as Agreus Astrayon
- Tamzin Merchant as Imogen Spurnrose
- Karla Crome as Tourmaline Larou
- Arty Froushan as Jonah Breakspear
- Caroline Ford as Sophie Longerbane
- Andrew Gower as Ezra Spurnrose
For the second season, Jamie Harris, who plays Sergeant Dombey, has been elevated to a regular position. The growing number of faeries in the neo-Victorian city deeply irritates him as a tough police officer.
Erik Oleson will serve as the showrunner for Carnival Row Season 2 in place of Travis Beacham and Marc Guggenheim, who both left the program owing to creative disputes.
As well as Jamie Harris, Waj Ali, and James Beaumont returning for Season 2, newcomers Alice Krige, Maeve Dermody, and Ariyon Bakare will also join.
Expected Plot
Although Carnival Row Season 2 synopsis has not yet been released, based on how the first season ended, it is likely that we will learn more about segregation. The government issued a directive for the separation of “magical” creatures from regular people in the final episode of the first season of the television show. Philo declares that he is also a fae and decides to join Vignette in the ghetto after realizing that this will be their final meeting.
Agreus and Imogen, on the other hand, sailed out to a location that was safer; but, even after the authorities ordered their ship to return to the city, they steadfastly refused to do so. In an interview, Tamzin Merchant, who played the role of Imogen, hinted at what might be in store for her character. She said that the opening five minutes of season two will be spectacular when Argeus and Imogen board the ship in the season 1 finale.
All things considered, it is certain that the pair will choose a more adventurous course while encountering challenges, and that eventually, their plot may converge with vignettes and Philo. If humans and fae are able to coexist or if they end up at war with one another, it will be shown in Carnival Row Season 2. If Philo and Vignette get the chance to be together, that is, or not, is something we’ll simply have to wait and see.
