Season one covered the first eight volumes of the manga while the OVA showed a much further storyline, covering Volume 18. We have some additional chapters in the manga books which Yona of the Dawn Season 2 is expected to start with along with Volume 9 where Yona and the dragons will be ready for the battle against Su-won and his allies in a mission to get back her kingdom.

The manga version clearly shows that it’s not going to be a cup of cake for Yona’s side to defeat Su-won and his forces, where it is mentioned how Yona and her friends have to deal with taxes, bandits, a Fire festival, and other important issues while on other hand, Su-won’s side is making preparations for war.
