Will Sex Education Season 4 Continue Without The Character Of Maeve?

Sex Education is a popular Netflix show with 3 seasons out currently and a Sex Education Season 4 expected. It is a British teen, rom-com series created by Laurie Nunn. The series follows the lives of the students, staff, and parents of the fictitious Moordale Secondary School as they deal with various problems, both sexual and personal… mainly sexual. It gives us important messages in a fun way and also some great sexual advice. The show is centered around Otis, Adam, Eric, Maeve, Aimee, Jean, Ola, and many more quirky and fun characters who all have their own storylines. There aren’t too many shows that talk so openly about safe sex and everything surrounding it and is a great step towards making sex less taboo and encouraging safe sex. It received immense praise and great ratings. Viewers loved the fun yet educational vibe of the show and also the romance angle between Maeve and Otis.

Sex Education Season 3 Recap

Season 3 premiered on September 17th, 2021, and ranked number 1 in many countries. It had 8 episodes, each episode approximately an hour long. There were many new characters and unexpected plot twists this season.

The most anticipated part of the show was Otis and Maeve’s love story. Did they finally get together? Are they still in a fight? DID THEY FINALLY KISS? What about Isaac? What about Erin and Elsie?

The fans had a lot of questions, and the new season did not disappoint!

This season had a lot of new characters, Cal Bowman- played by Dua Saleh, Hope Haddon- the new Headmistress, played by Jemima Kirke and Anna- Elsie’s foster parent, played by Indra Ove.

The main cast includes Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Aimee Louwood, Patricia Allison, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Sterling, Tanya Reynolds, Mimi Keene, Mikael Persbrandt, and more.

The best part of the season was the representation given to non-binary people. There were some beautiful scenes and we learned a lot from Cal and Layla about the community that we probably didn’t already know. This show has been talking about the LGBTQIA+ community since the first season itself and one of the main characters, Eric Effiong is openly gay.

Representation was also given to infertility and the women struggling with it for years. It is not a very commonly discussed topic but this show did a great job at covering some aspects of it.

Sex Education Season 4 Renewal

The biggest conflict, revealed at the end of season 2, was Jean and Jakob having a baby. In season 3, their beautiful baby girl whom they named Joy was born, however, this wasn’t drama-free either!

The new conflict that cropped up was that of the paternity test and confirming whose baby Joy is. Jean takes the test and receives the results too.

In the last episode, Jean is shown reading the results of the paternity test and going into shock. The reason, however, was not disclosed… we wonder why?

This gave fans a hint that a renewal for Sex Education Season 4 could be possible. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Netflix or the creators and cast of the show, season 4 is highly possible. Fans hope the renewal announcement will be out by the end of October 2021.
