Claim to Fame is a reality show hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, where 12 celebrity relatives compete to guess each other’s famous connections. The show, which premiered in July 2022, has been a hit among viewers who love to solve the mystery of each contestant’s identity. One of the most intriguing contestants is Pepper, who has been dropping clues about her celebrity grandparent throughout the season. But who is Pepper related to on Claim to Fame? Here’s what we know so far.
Pepper’s First Guess
Pepper was chosen as the first guesser in Season 1, Episode 1 of Claim to Fame. This meant she had to correctly guess who another contestant was related to or else she would be eliminated. Pepper eventually chose Maxwell, believing him to be Steven Spielberg’s grandson. However, before she could reveal her guess, the hosts were informed that Max had cheated by using a smartphone, which was against the rules. He was disqualified and sent home, saving Pepper from elimination. It turned out that Max was actually the grandson of Chuck Norris.
Pepper’s Clues
Each Claim to Fame contestant offered two truths and a lie about their celebrity relative or how they’re related. Unfortunately, not all of Pepper’s facts were shown in Episode 1. The only one viewers heard was Pepper’s lie: “He is most known for being a comedian.” This clue didn’t give much information about her grandparent, but it did rule out some possibilities.
In later episodes, Pepper revealed more clues about her famous connection, such as:
- A red pocket square
- An “orange-in-ale Rat Pack singer” description
- A Utah Airbnb host providing the friendliest welcome
These hints narrowed down the list of potential celebrities, but still left some room for doubt.
Pepper’s Guesses
Spoiler alert! While we don’t know for sure who Pepper is or the identity of her celebrity relative, the correct answer may be spoiled in the guesses below.
Our best guess at this point in the competition is that Pepper from Claim to Fame is related to the late singer/actor/comedian Dean Martin. Specifically, we think she is his granddaughter, Pepper Martin, the daughter of Dean’s late son, singer Ricci Martin. Additionally, we (along with other viewers) believe this is Pepper’s Instagram account.
What makes us think that Dean Martin is Pepper’s grandfather? Well, there are several reasons:
- Dean Martin was a member of the Rat Pack, a group of entertainers that included Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.
- Dean Martin often wore a red pocket square as part of his signature style
- Dean Martin starred in a comedy film called The Caddy, where he sang “That’s Amore”, which contains the lyrics “When you walk in a dream but you know you’re not dreaming signore / Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli that’s amore”
- Dean Martin had eight children from three marriages, which gives him many grandchildren
- Dean Martin vacationed at a house in Utah that is now owned by Pepper and used as an Airbnb property
Of course, this is just our speculation based on the clues and information available online. We could be wrong and Pepper could be related to someone else entirely. But we think we have a strong case for Dean Martin being her grandfather.
