Save My Reno is a Canadian home renovation reality TV show that aired on HGTV from 2017 to 2019. The show was hosted by Sebastian Clovis, a contractor and former CFL football player, who worked with his designer co-host Sabrina Smelko to completely transform outdated and dysfunctional homes into beautiful and functional living spaces.
Sabrina Smelko is a creative freelancer who has a passion for art, design and branding. She joined Save My Reno in 2017 and co-hosted the first two seasons of the show with Sebastian Clovis. However, in 2019, she announced that she had decided to leave the show.

My intuition is relentlessly persistent, unwavering and—most importantly—has never steered me wrong. So I followed it. Which meant leaving behind something else, a show I had worked on and been a part of for years! Where I’m heading exactly and what that looks like, I don’t know exactly. But I am pulled to return to my roots in art, design and branding. And I know to get where I’m meant to go requires me to be fully open and available as I continue trusting and listening to my guide, myself.
Sabrina expressed her gratitude for the experience and the people she worked with on the show, and wished them nothing but the best. She also hinted at some exciting projects that she was working on, such as launching a new wellness business called Heelr.
Sabrina’s departure from Save My Reno left many fans wondering what happened to her and why she left. Some speculated that she had a falling out with Sebastian or HGTV, but Sabrina denied any such rumors. She said that she simply followed her heart and did what was best for her.
Sabrina’s replacement on Save My Reno was Samantha Pynn, an interior designer and TV personality who had previously hosted shows like Pure Design and Home To Win. Samantha joined Sebastian for the third and fourth seasons of Save My Reno, which aired in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Sabrina’s decision to leave Save My Reno was a brave and bold one that showed her commitment to her personal growth and happiness. She proved that sometimes it’s okay to let go of something good to pursue something better.
