At the virtual DC FanDome event, an event similar to Netflix’s global event TUDUM, fans got glimpses of some of the upcoming TV shows and movies next year that they’ve been waiting eagerly. One of these was Netflix’s The Sandman adaptation set to release in 2022. The Sandman is an upcoming TV series based on the popular comic book series with the same title written by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg, and Sam Keith.
We also got the first look at this supernatural fantasy drama, in the form of a trailer that has blown everyone’s minds!

THE SANDMAN SEASON 1 PLOT
The dream is one of the seven godlike siblings- Death, Desire, Delirium, Despair, Destruction, and Destiny- who each represent a different trait, and Dream is in trouble. He is being kept in captivity by evil but an extremely powerful sorcerer.
The dream is a personification of all our possible dreams and stories, rolled into one godlike human.
For over a century, Dream has been trying to get out. He finally manages to escape and when he does, the first place he goes to is his land- the land of the Dreaming.
What happens next is for us to wait and watch!
Season 1 of The Sandman will be based on the first two volumes of the comic series, Preludes & Nocturnes and The Doll’s House.
The Sandman comics are available online and in stores for those who want to check them out before the release! There are also audiobook versions that are available with an all-star cast narration to get the whole feel of it.
THE SANDMAN RELEASE DATE
The Sandman TV show does not have an official release date yet. The trailer assured viewers that it would be “coming soon” but didn’t specify when. It is going to premiere sometime in 2022.
The Sandman is looking super promising! The trailer received a great response from fans all around the world and everyone is very excited about the release. The Sandman will release exclusively on Netflix in 2022! Hopefully, it will hit screens in the first half of 2022 because after that bomb trailer, we definitely can’t wait longer than that!
