Barry Allen looks to have just fought the four Flash Forces and Godspeed in the heart of Central City. Season 7 of The Flash was undoubtedly one of the most contentious in the series’ history, but a much stronger finale has fans eagerly anticipating the eighth season. Unfortunately, The Flash season 8 and the 5-part crossover event will have to wait a little longer because The CW’s calendar reveals that the program will not be returning this month.
The CW has announced the launch date for season 8 of The Flash.
Season 8 of The Flash will begin on Tuesday, November 16 at 8/7c. The show will then run for four more weekly episodes before having a midseason break, marking the first half of the crossover event. It will formally begin the season 8 narrative when it returns in early 2022.
This year, The Flash will have a new broadcast companion in the form of Riverdale, which will move from Wednesdays to join The Flash in the 9/8c schedule for its sixth season.
What Is the Story for Season 8 Of the Flash?
Barry teamed up with his wife, Iris, their future children Bart and Nora, Jay Garrick, and the actual manifestation of the Speed Force to take on Godspeed in The Flash’s Season 7 finale. Nora and Bart opted to stay in the present time after defeating the enemy and imprisoning him in Iron Heights, while Barry and Iris reaffirmed their vows.
Following Godspeed’s defeat, however, not everything is perfect. To aid in the defeat of the wicked speedster, Barry resurrected his archenemy, the Reverse-Flash. After escaping the last fight, the Reverse-Flash is expected to play a major role in Season 8.
Season 8 of The Flash will depict Barry’s development into a “confident, extremely powerful, secure team leader,” according to series executive producer Eric Wallace. The marriage of Barry and Iris, as well as Joe and Cecile’s, will be put to the test during the season.

The Flash Season 8 Cast and Characters
Grant Gustin (Barry), Candice Patton (Iris), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), and Jesse L. Martin are among the key cast members set to return for Season 8. (Joe West). The fate of the other members of the main cast has yet to be revealed.
Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon) and Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells and Reverse-Flash) both left the series during Season 7, making this the first season without them as series stars. Despite this, executive producer Eric Wallace of the series has indicated that the Reverse-Flash will return in Season 8.
