What We Know Of The Sequel?
Taboo Tattoo made its debut on July 4th, 2016. The last episode aired on September 19th, 2016.
It has been 4 years since the first season ended. It received quite a mixed response from viewers, unlike the manga. The manga was a huge hit among readers! This mixed response could be the reason for the delay or perhaps cancellation of season 2.
Taboo Tattoo has a score of 6.01/10 on MyAnimeList based on about 55,300 votes. It is rated just 2.3 out of 5 stars on Crunchyroll. However, on Funimation, this action-packed anime thriller scored a 4.5/5. So it is neither great nor is it terrible. Those who enjoyed the first season are really looking forward to a second. And those who did not, are hoping if a second season does come out, it will be new and improved.
Making changes and improvising takes a little longer, understandably. Especially when the series is based on manga. Fans are still holding out hopes that that is the case with Taboo Tattoo season 2 and that is what is causing a delay. The makers of the show never officially canceled it. But 4 years later, there still hasn’t been any news. Will we ever get to see a sequel? That remains unanswered as of now.
Do The Makers Have Enough Material?
Yes. The first season had only 12 episodes and the manga has a total of 13 volumes. Therefore, the creators have more than enough material for a few more seasons. That gives us a little hope, however, at the moment the chances look pretty low.
