‘Rick and Morty,’ an animated science-fiction sitcom on Adult Swim, follows sociopathic scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Mortimer “Morty” Smith on their interdimensional and multiversal adventures. The couple encounters many universes, habitations, planets, and their own alternate lives as they advance through their travels. The show also delves into the narcissistic Rick’s relationship with the distressed Morty, as the former frequently traumatizes Morty with his dubious methods for dealing with the problems they encounter on their journey.
Dan Harmon announced at Adult Swim Con in 2020 that production on seasons six and seven has begun. Harmon noted at the time, “We’ve had all these writers out to script season 6, and we’ve spent the last couple of months with new writers talking about season 6.”
The two-time Primetime Emmy winner is one of the most critically acclaimed animated series of the twenty-first century, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. The show has become a benchmark attempt in the animated sci-fi genre since its release on December 2, 2013, with critics hailing its limitless world of ambition and imagination. It has defied genre preconceptions by delving into the philosophical themes of nihilism and absurdism in a post-modern setting over the course of five seasons. Here’s all we know about ‘Rick and Morty’ season 6 as the series progresses to a new edition!

Season 6 of Rick and Morty has a release date
Season 5 of ‘Rick and Morty’ started on Adult Swim, Cartoon Network’s nightly programming block, on June 20, 2021, and ended on September 5, 2021. The fifth season consists of ten episodes, each lasting 22 minutes. Here’s all we know about the sixth season thus far!
Adult Swim renewed the sitcom for 70 episodes on May 10, 2018, according to co-creator Justin Roiland. Roiland and Harmon can group an unspecified number of episodes for a season under the terms of the long-term arrangement. Individual seasons have always been designed in a ten-episode format (except for the first season, which includes eleven episodes), leaving 50 episodes in the long-term deal following the season 5 finale.
Co-creator Dan Harmon stated that development on the sixth installment is ongoing at Adult Swim Con in July 2020. “We’ve got all these writers out to script season 6, and we’ve spent the last few months talking about season 6 with new writers,” Harmon explained. In an interview with the Interdimensional RSS podcast in September 2021, showrunner and executive producer Scott Marder provided an update on Season 6’s progress. “We’ve really gotten the show rolling,” he continued, “but that’s not to say Season 6 is animating; everything’s in the works.”
In August 2021, writer Cody Ziglar announced that season 7’s writing was completed, implying that the sixth season’s production is proceeding as planned. With the completion of animation and other production procedures, we may not have to wait long to see the dynamic couple back in action with more bizarre escapades. Season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty’ is expected to premiere in Q3 2022, based on these characteristics.
Who could be in the Rick and Morty Season 6 Voice Cast?
Almost all of the main voice cast members, including Justin Roiland as Rick and Morty, Chris Parnell as Jerry Smith, Spencer Grammer as Summer, and Sarah Chalke as Beth Smith and Space Beth, will return for season 6 of ‘Rick and Morty.’ Kari Wahlgren is set to reprise her roles as Jessica and the Space Cruiser.
In the fifth season, a number of new and returning characters debut, and some of them may return in the sixth season. Mr. Nimbus, Alison Brie (Planetina), Dan Harmon (Birdperson), Keith David (President Curtis), Timothy Olyphant (Coop), Cassie Steele (Tammy), and Christina Ricci (Princess Poeta) are among the cast members. We may expect a new crop of voice actors to join the show for the sixth season, in addition to the recurrent cast.
