The Plot of the Plastic Memories

The plot of Plastic Memories surrounds a city in the near future, in which human beings are residing along with Androids that have the same appearance as humans and also have emotions and memories like humans. It shows a leading production company of Android, SAI Corp, in the city which has introduced a new android model called Giftia. Giftia possesses almost all the human qualities and characteristics of all the other Android Models.

There is a problem, however, in Giftia that it has a limited time period of survival, and that is 81,920 hours which is approx 9 years and 4 months. And it is learned that if the model passes its expiration date, it will cause personality disintegration of the model, memory loss, and outbreaks of violence from the Giftia. Thus, the employees have to come up with some idea for fixing this issue, go to the owners of Giftia and retrieve it. And the story shows the protagonist of the show, Tsukasa Mizugaki, and, a female Giftia who has been named Isla, which makes the matters worse because both of them are co-workers at the SAI Corp’s Terminal Service No. 1 office.

Many fans have been waiting for Plastic Memories Season 2 since the day the final episode of the show aired. They are eagerly looking forward to hearing about the show’s renewal if it is happening. Meanwhile, some rumors are suggesting that the anime series would be renewed and might come back for a Second Season. Although, it has not been clarified by the creators of the show if the show is really coming back for a Season 2 or not.

But fans are thinking that it would be renewed as Isla’s memories were erased at the end of the first season which makes the series hang on a Cliffhanger conclusion and thus, it is being assumed that there will be a second season for Plastic Memories, which might show Tsukasa striving in resurrecting Isla’s removed memories or otherwise, it may show the life of Tsukasa after he loses Isla.

But if the conclusion was not suspenseful and it just indicated the cycle of life, that we are born, we live for a while and collect memories and then we die, the show will not be coming back. However, Plastic Memories Season 2 has yet to be officially announced by the makers. We are still wondering if such thought is being processed in the minds of the creators or not. But we could guess that it has been 7 years since the last episode of the series was aired, we can expect that if the show is up for renewal, it will be announced in Mid 2022 and will be aired at the end of 2022.
