One Piece Season 21 Release Date: Will it be available on Crunchyroll or Funimation?

The series One Piece has been premiering for more than 2 decades. That is, since 1999. Till now, the show has released a total of 20 seasons. But the structuring of these seasons has been done very unevenly. All the 20 seasons have really undetermined number of episodes. Some seasons have as less as 14 episodes while some others have as many as 118 episodes. But each and every season is focused on a particular story arc and therefore revolves around the characters in a specific setting. In this article, we shall discuss One Piece Season 21.

About One Piece

One Piece is an anime TV series that is produced by Toei Animation. The series is based on a manga created by Eiichiro Oda. Many different episodes of the series have been directed by different directors like Konosuko Uda, Junji Shimizu, Munehisa Sakai, Hiroaki Miyamoto, Toshinori Fukawaza, and several others.

The distribution of the series in North America started on 8th June 2004. The license of the distribution was acquired by 4Kids Entertainment. The series has been popular among anime lovers since its first season in Japan and when it started to be distributed in other countries increased moreover. Then the English-language release of One Piece was started to be produced by Funimation (now Crunchyroll) on 13th April 2007. Thus, the popularity of the series led to the release of 20 seasons of it. Now, the release of One Piece Season 21 is also being speculated and it will certainly be released any time soon.

Plot Summary of One Piece

The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy becoming the King of all pirates. On his journey, he meets many people who help him through his quest. He meets a greedy thief Nami, a professional swordsman Roronoa Zolo, a great liar who has an affinity for inventing Usopp, a warrior cook Sanji, a sentient deer, and a skilled physician Chopper and a former member of Baroque Works Robin. The whole group sets out on the adventure with Luffy.

Gol D. Roger, known as the Pirate King is the strongest and most infamous one to have sailed through the Grand Line. The arrest and execution of Roger by the World Government brought a change across the whole world. The last words of Roger prior to his death unfolded the existence of the most amazing treasure of the world, One Piece.

The revelation brought about the Grand Age of Pirates, humans who desired of finding the One Piece which could promise unlimited richness and fame and glory and the title of Pirate King. So Luffy is after the One Piece. He experiences crazy adventures, unveils dark mysteries, and battle strong armies along the way of One Piece.

Release Date of One Piece Season 21

One Piece Season 21 is certainly going to be released. The date of release is unknown yet. The show is still in its Season 20 and is adapting the Wano Country arc. But it is unknown and unsure how many episodes will the 20th season be having and when exactly will it get concluded.

110 episodes of the 20th season have been aired as of 14th November 2021. Since the manga is not over yet and Oda is planning to write more chapters for the manga, the anime will surely follow it. This ensures the 21st season of the series. But unfortunately, because of the uneven schedule and episodes, the release date is not known. But the assumption is that it will be released in 2023.

Trailer of One Piece Season 21

Clearly, because the release date has not even been hinted at till now, the trailer is far away. The announcement of One Piece Season 21 has not been done yet. So we have to wait for some information or hints from the creators or the production house on the next arc of the manga. It is being assumed that the new season is ongoing in the production process and would be running until the Wano Country arc is concluded.

Which story arc is speculated to be adapted for Season 21?

Season 20 is dealing with the Wano Country arc right now. And the manga of One Piece is also still in the works. So we don’t know actually what the next arc would be and which arc would be adapted by One Piece Season 21.
