Toei Animation is bringing to you the fifteenth feature film of the popular manga, One Piece which is written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. The film is directed by Gorō Taniguchi and is all set to hit the Japanese theatres this August. The film was announced on 21 November 2021 on the occasion of One Piece’s 1000th episode release. Fans are extremely curious to see Shanks and the introduction of his estranged daughter, Uta. The Origin of “One Piece” Stories
One Piece is originally a Japanese manga series by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine since July 1997. As of August 2022, its chapters have been compiled into 103 tankōbon volumes.
The series is centralized towards Monkey D. Luffy, a young man made of rubber who is highly inspired by the powerful pirate Red-Haired Shanks since his childhood and sets on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find the One Piece treasure of the myths in order to become the King of the Pirates. He assembles a crew for himself “Straw Hat Pirates” and rescues and befriends a pirate hunter and swordsman, Roronoa Zoro. His crew also includes Nami, a monkey-obsessed thief and navigator, Usopp, a sniper and liar, and Sanji, a perverted yet chivalrous cook.
They head towards pirates on their ship, the Going Merry, and add more people to his crew including Tony Tony Chopper, a doctor by profession, Franky, a cyborg shipwright, Brook, a skeleton musician, Nico Robin, an archaeologist and former Baroque Works assassin, and Jimbei, a fish-man and former member of Seven Warlords of the Sea. Franky builds a new ship, the Thousand Sunny after the Going Merry becomes a total wreck. In an adventure to achieve their goal, they are engaged with numerous pirates, bounty hunters, criminal organizations, secret agents, and soldiers of the corrupt World Government.

Official Synopsis and Cast Revealed for One Piece Film: Red
The movie will follow the story on the “Island of Music”, Elegia. Uta is the world’s greatest diva and she reveals herself to the public by doing her first ever live concert on this island. She is joined by The Straw Hats, pirates, and her fans across the world on this occasion, while they describe Uta’s voice as “otherworldly”. But we get a shocking revelation at the beginning of the event that Uta is the daughter of Shanks.

The Movie is all set for an August Release!
One Piece Film: Red is the 15th One Piece movie, set to be released on August 6, 2022. The film was first announced on November 21, 2021, in commemoration of Episode 1000’s release. The movie is going to release on 6th August in Japan and premier in Paris. France and Taiwan will witness the movie release on the 10th and 19th of August respectively. The release date for the UK, US, New Zealand, Ireland, and Australia is declared to be “Fall”.

Until now, the duo has not interacted face to face in movies, and One Piece Film: Red is supposed to finally give us one of the most important sequences in the main storyline, i.e. Luffy and Shanks meeting each other.
