Is Violet Evergarden Season 2 Really Happening? Release Date And Everything To Know About The Anime

Violet Evergarden, a Japanese light novel series anime that made its debut in 2018 received much appreciation and gathered good remarks throughout the world. It won millions of hearts for its fascinating and beautiful storyline.

Even though there have been two more films of the same franchise, Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll and Violet Evergarden: The Movie, Violet Evergarden Season 2 is still much-awaited and the fans are excited to see how does the story develops further.

The makers have not made a word on Violet Evergarden Season 2. So as of now it is neither announced nor canceled. However, if we consider all other factors such as its popularity, rating, profitability, and remarks, the series is expected to hit the screens in near future.

Several reports and news portals published last year claim that Kyoto Animation is working on the scripts of Violet Evergarden Season 2 and is likely to drop the sequel by the end of 2021 or at the beginning of 2022  as production of season 2 was expectedly halted due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

The storyline of the first season spins around 14-year-old Violet, who had seen a lot at a very early age. She became an orphan so young that she couldn’t even describe her parents and was not even properly named. The little child was given to a man named Gilbert and this girl lived her almost whole life as a child soldier. Mr. Gilbert gave her a name, set up a new life for her post-war, and made her realized the idea of feeling loved. There on the story develops, as Violet was thrown into battle as a child soldier, she loses both of her hands as well as her mentor Major Gilbert, who leaves her with the three words before disappearing: “I love you.” Traumatized and heart-wrecked, Violet finds strength as a Doll, a ghostwriter who helps people express their feelings to others through letters. Later on, she met Yurith, a terminally ill boy who shuns his family but beckons her service, Violet is forced to confront her suppressed memories and her love for Gilbert. The intense emotion and slow pace of struggles are not everyone’s cup of tea, especially those unfamiliar with the series, the romanticism is done exceptionally well, and with utmost sincerity that will leave you in tears. The story is set on a tone of the harshness of war and the life of orphan kid violet who seems to have long combat with her destiny.

As for now, the official plot for Violet Evergarden Season 2 has been kept undercover to overcome all types of speculations and rumors. But the viewers expect that the unanswered questions of season 1 might be solved in the upcoming season. Major Gilbert, who was executed in season 1. Whether he will reappear in Season 2 is the main question that has been creating a great buzz in everyone’s mind. Many expect that his character might be visible through flashbacks.
