If you are a fan of professional wrestling, you might have wondered if there is any family connection between two popular wrestlers who share the same last name: Adam Page and Diamond Dallas Page. Both of them have been involved in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world. But are they really related, or is it just a coincidence?
Who is Adam Page?
Adam Page, also known as Hangman, is a 30-year-old wrestler from Virginia who started his career in 2008. He has wrestled for various independent promotions, such as Ring of Honor (ROH), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). He is best known for being a founding member of The Elite, a faction that includes Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes.
Adam Page joined AEW in 2019 and has been one of the top stars of the promotion ever since. He has won the AEW World Tag Team Championship with Kenny Omega and has challenged for the AEW World Championship twice, losing to Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. He is currently the reigning AEW World Champion after defeating Kenny Omega at Full Gear 2021.
Who is Diamond Dallas Page?
Diamond Dallas Page, or DDP for short, is a 65-year-old retired wrestler, actor, yoga instructor, and fitness guru. He started his career in 1988 as a manager in the American Wrestling Association (AWA), before moving to World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1991. He became a wrestler himself in late 1991 and rose to fame in the mid-1990s as one of the most popular faces of WCW.
DDP won several championships in WCW, including the WCW World Heavyweight Championship three times, the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship two times, and the WCW World Tag Team Championship four times. He also had memorable feuds with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Goldberg, and Sting. He was one of the few WCW stars who did not join the nWo faction.
After WCW was bought by WWE in 2001, DDP signed with WWE and made his debut as a stalker of The Undertaker’s wife. He later became a motivational speaker and won the WWE European Championship and the WWE World Tag Team Championship with Kanyon. He left WWE in 2002 due to injuries and worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) from 2004 to 2005.
DDP retired from wrestling in 2020 after making sporadic appearances for various promotions, including AEW. He is also known for his DDP Yoga program, which has helped many people improve their health and fitness. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017 by Eric Bischoff.
Are They Related?
The short answer is no. Adam Page and Diamond Dallas Page are not related by blood or by marriage. They just happen to have the same surname, which is not uncommon in wrestling. There are many other examples of wrestlers who share a last name but are not related, such as Bret Hart and Jimmy Hart, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero Jr., or Roman Reigns and The Rock.
However, that does not mean that they have no connection at all. According to Atletifo.com , both Adam Page and DDP have wrestled for AEW, although DDP only had one match for the promotion. In fact, they were both part of a six-man tag team match at Bash at the Beach 2020, where DDP teamed up with Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall to face MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade. Adam Page was on commentary during that match and praised DDP’s performance.
Moreover, both Adam Page and DDP have expressed their respect and admiration for each other on social media. In 2019, DDP tweeted that he was proud of Adam Page for being part of AEW’s first-ever main event at Double or Nothing. In 2020, Adam Page tweeted that he was honored to share the ring with DDP at Bash at the Beach.
So while they are not related by blood or by marriage, they are certainly related by wrestling.
