Force MDs’ Legacy

Force MDs was formed in Staten Island, New York, in 1981 by Daniels and his nephews Stevie D. Lundy, Antoine “T.C.D.” Lundy and Rodney “Khalil” Lundy. They were joined by their friends “Trisco” Pearson and Charles “Mercury” Nelson. The group’s name stands for “Musical Diversity”, as they blended hip-hop, R&B, and doo-wop styles.

The group signed to Tommy Boy Records in 1984 and scored their first top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986 with “Tender Love”, which was written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and featured in the film Krush Groove. They also had a number one hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “Love Is a House” in 1987. They collaborated with Ghostface Killah on his 1996 album Ironman, and released their final album as a group in 2000.
