Dr Ed Hindson was born on March 21, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in a Christian family and accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of nine. He felt a call to ministry at the age of 16 and enrolled in William Tyndale College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. He then pursued further studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in 1969 and a Doctor of Theology degree in 1973. He also received a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of South Africa in 1994.
Ministry and Career
Dr Ed Hindson began his ministry as a pastor of several churches in Michigan, Illinois, and Virginia. He also served as an evangelist and speaker for various organizations such as Campus Crusade for Christ, Youth for Christ, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He traveled to over 40 countries and preached to thousands of people.
In 1974, he joined Liberty University as a professor of religion. He taught courses on biblical studies, theology, apologetics, and prophecy. However, he developed a staph infection that caused multiple organ failure. He spent over 100 days in the hospital and received kidney dialysis almost every day. By God’s grace, he survived and recovered from his illness.
However, on June 30, 2023, he suffered another cardiac arrest at his home and was rushed to the hospital. He was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) where he received medical attention. However, his condition did not improve and he passed away on July 2, 2023.
