Introduction
To be honest, the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were quite confused about the subject of the teaser trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was released right after the last marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. Well… from an overall point of view, the teaser was cool. It gave a glimpse of what the movie is going to be about. But the teaser didn’t represent any kind of future development in MCU that could catch our attention. But with the recent trailer of Doctor Strange 2, Marvel got that part covered. Yes… this ridiculously insane recent trailer has presented a broad view of what can we expect from the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel’s Illuminati
The newest trailer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has presented us with hints of some breathtaking developments in new characters and theories that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has never revealed before to its fans. Yeah… such developments are going to be the key ingredient in the upcoming Doctor Strange 2. One thing we can say for sure is that we are going to see the character of Professor X as the voice cameo has already been revealed in the trailer. The person who is going to act as Professor X is Patrick Stewart. But in the bigger picture, the tease has many things up to its sleeves. And it looks like the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to bring a version of the Illuminati that can be related to the multiverse theory of MCU!
If you are a comic fan you already know that the Multiversal Illuminati has had several members who varied with time. On one hand, we have seen Charles Xavier, Black Bolt, Reed Richards, on the other hand, we have seen new characters like Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain America in Marvel Comics’ Illuminati. The team was formed in order to face the problems that grew bigger and more difficult to face. The team was formed by Iron Man which had a mission to act as a shield when times of difficulties come.
Now, if we follow the current timeline of the MCU, this union of superheroes cannot possibly exist. Even after coming a long way with 27 movies and various series, there isn’t enough history that can represent all the characters without any prior introduction. But fortunately, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has recently introduced its multiverse concept that can bring all the superheroes from different universes and rally them up. Well… that’s why we’re going to see Professor X in Doctor Strange 2 right?
Superior Iron Man
As we have seen in the sacred timeline of MCU, Tony Stark is dead for good. There’s no way he is going to appear in front of us again. But what about the other timelines? Maybe some other Iron Man in some other universe is serving under the Illuminati that will allow us to see the face of Robert Downey Jr. for one more time? Maybe the figure covered in flame is not actually Captain Marvel or The Human Torch, but it is the Superior Iron Man variant played by Tom Cruise?
Yes… for a very short period of time that was between an event (Axis or Sixis) and another one (the Secret War), we have seen Tony Stark, wearing an armor that left all of his head in open and had a sleek frame around his face. That guy is called Superior Iron Man. And he is an outcome of Axis. Now, what is Axis? Well… it is an event where the good guys become bad and the bad guys become good. Looks like we got the perfect candidate for Marvel’s Illuminati… no?
