The beloved of all, Disney has blessed us with an uncountable number of movies and shows and made everyone’s childhood, teenage, and adulthood reminiscent. One of those is the 2006 movie Cars which has captivated many fans with its mesmerizing franchise. The first movie “Cars” became such a huge hit which compelled the creators to come up with two more parts it, that are “Cars 2” and “Cars 3”. In this article, we shall discuss the upcoming series of the franchise titled Cars on the Road.
All three parts received excellent popularity and critical acclaim for their performance. Of course, the movies deserved these. And we hope that the future projects Disney will also be gaining fame and love for them. This is because the fans need to fasten their seatbelts because the Cars franchise is going to get a new series with the name Cars on the Road.

About Cars on the Road
Cars on the Road is an upcoming animated series of Disney/Pixar which is going to follow the same titular characters from the original 2006 Cars movie as they will be packing their luggage and leaving their place in Radiator Springs for the purpose of going on a cross-country trip together.
Cars on the Road is a project which is being directed by a queue of eminent directors like Steve Purcell, Bobby Podesta, and Brian Fee, who all were also involved in the creation of the previous Cars projects. The series is the production of the executive producer Marc Sondheimer, who has also created some extraordinary works teaming up with Pixar.
The series score has been composed by the famous Jake Monaco who is the same person behind the popular music in Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Cars on the Road was announced on 10th December 2020 by Pixar on Disney Investors Day. They announced that an animated series which will be starring the characters Lightning McQueen and Mater, who will be traveling the country while meeting their old and new friends, was in development.
The title ‘Cars on the Road’ was announced for the show on 12th November 2021. And it was also announced that Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy will be reprising their roles as Lightning McQueen and Mater, respectively.
When and Where can the series be streamed?
The series was announced in December 2020 and the characters were hinted in June 2021. The series is all set to hit the screens on 8th September 2022. Cars on the Road will be with no doubt released on the streaming platform Disney+ as a part of Disney+ Day.
Can we stream series without Disney+?
The series is an original of Disney and thus, The Pixar-produced series is available to stream just on Disney+. The streaming service is available on every mobile device, smart TV, and web browser.
Is there a Trailer for Cars on the Road yet?
Yes. The trailer for Cars on the Roads was released on the 1st of August 2022 by Pixar. The trailer of Cars on the Road starts with everyone’s favorite, superstar racecar Lightning McQueen who is doing what is best at – drifting on the desert terrains on the outskirts of the charming town of Radiator Springs.
The trailer then switches to showing Lightning McQueen and his tow truck buddy, the popular Mater, who are driving side by side with McQueen poking Mater to race with him. Mater, in all his audacity, declines to take part in the challenge, so that he could start speeding up and get a head start.
Very soon then, the beloved residents of Radiator Springs are seen congregating around Flo’s V8 Cafe. Mater there announces that he would not be present in the town for some time because he has to go to his sister’s wedding. McQueen proposes that he should tag along with him on the journey.
We then see several montages of the duo hitting the roads and making some quick stops at various attractions, which include the World’s Largest Lugnut and a live dinosaur that has been made out of spare parts from Cars. They also make some new friends as well as enemies on their way.
Cars on the Roads will be showing the electrifying journey of McQueen and Mater through the most unorthodox places. The most important factor which will be focused on in the series will be McQueen and Mater’s friendship.
