Boruto episode 231 is about Tsubaki and her past. In this episode, it is revealed that Tsubaki is a samurai rather than a shinobi. She is from the land of Iron. Tsubaki gets trained from Shinobi in Kohona as an exchange student to become stronger. But the actual episode starts with her dream where she gets trained with a samurai follower, Sazanka. Further team 15 in which Tsubaki, Namida, and Wasabi work as teammates.

They all were sent to ask for robbery to nearby survivors but on seeing Tsubaki’s sword all reacted in a very violent way and reminds all of them that the perpetrator is samurai. Getting all the hints Tsubaki recognizes swords moves and makes believe her team members that the bandit could be samurai Sazanka. She said that Sazanka is mad after Mifune’s sword, Kurosawa, and wanted to grab it at any account and kill everyone who come his way. Now with no other way left  Team 15 try to ambush the bandit. Tsubaki attacked him with her sword was unaffected by Sazanka as Tsubaki thought that she is responsible for him to stray from a good way.
