Black Panther Wakanda Forever Is Again Under Reshoot – Major Changes Expected In The Plot?

Marvel movies have a history of creating a buzz even before their release. Fans’ theories, the leaks, and anything that could be speculated make the headlines now and then but the top billing Black Panther 2 has recently enrolled in the news since its announcement made fans puzzled every time. Wondering what might be the anecdote this time? Well, Black Panther Wakanda Forever is going under reshoot yet again before its release on November 11 this year.

Black Panther Wakanda Forever- The Reshoot

As per the reports of Lizzie Hill from Cosmic Circus, Black Panther Wakanda Forever is going under a short reshoot of seven days from September 7 to September 14. The shoot will be taking place in Atlanta, Georgia where the Marvel movies had covered its initial shots in 2021. The news broke out with a comic take having memes from the Black Panther movie only. Have a look here:

Well, reshooting is not considered that bad as the reason could not only be the malformation in the initial stages. Marvel has had the incidents before too for the shoot of promotional footage, and post-credit scenes but this time it doesn’t seem to be the case. Speculations suggest that being on the floor at this time when the release is so close was needed to put some major changes which can make the upcoming Black Panther movie more suitable. Well, it cannot be bad because as the audience we really might get something good from the reshooting but it raises questions about the filmmaking procedure- is something not clicking well?

Well, this is not the first time that Black Panther Wakanda Forever has gone under reshoot. In July, Tenoch Huerta, the Mexican actor playing the main antagonist, Namor- the sub mariner confirmed that after the San Diego Comic-Con empanelment of Black Panther Wakanda Forever he went back to Marvel Studios for shooting some tidbits.

He described the reshoot as “To be honest, my life hasn’t changed that much. I’m doing reshoots that are like little missing pieces, like the take of a hand, a movement, some new framing. Like little things to do at the end of every movie, and that sometimes you need to do them again.”

The reshoot then was meant for adding more scenes of Namor to the movie including some of his stills with Shuri and Nakia. It is to be noticed that it was after the first trailer release of the Ryan Coogler-directed movie. Seems like the making team will put effort till the end to make the movie a blockbuster.

The efforts are obvious as the challenges are big after Chadwick Boseman aka T’Chall’s death in August 2020.

Black Panther 2-The Unending Saga Of Hiatus

Black Panther Wakanda Forever’s production has seen a dramatic wave throughout the process. When Black Panther got its exclusive movie in 2018 it made history on the Box Office chart and the critics too couldn’t deny the epic making, acting, and everything about it. The sequel was soon announced in 2019 only and was termed the last leap in Marvel’s fourth phase.

But the upheaval started when the movie lost its superhero in 2020 to colon cancer putting King T’Challa’s or more to say Black Panther series’ fate in the doldrums. Marvel for obvious reasons has to change the plans for the series where it decided not to recast someone as King T’Challa and give a different plot to the sequel.

When fans thought that the 30th Marvel is finally getting back on track, COVID-19 put a long halt to the production. Finally, Black Panther Wakanda Forever was able to be on the floor in Atlanta, Brunswick, and Massachusetts from June to November 2021. The shooting took a toll due to the injuries Letitia Wright sustained while making the film. Finally, in March 2022, the production wrapped up after getting a restart in January when Wright recovered fully.

Not only the hiatus but recently the Black Panther sequel has faced a setback when some Reddit accounts spilled beans about the major plots of the movie where every big question in fans’ minds seems to be answered clearly.

After all this, we all are unsure as to whether what we are getting on November 11 will be a satisfying version or not but as Marvel never fails to surprise we expect it to be a blockbuster like its predecessor. We will see all the artist to be back in their role, having an ensemble of  Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Tenoch Huerta, Florence Kasumba, Angela Bassett, Dominique Thorne, Martin Freeman, and Michaela Coel. We will see Shuri, Nakia, and M’Baku in the highlights while the story will proceed with the Wakanadans and acquaintances protecting the province from adversaries, majorly Namor, the sub-mariner in a tussle with Wakanda. We will see Riri Williams, the renowned inventor of Marvel in the core role too.
