Billions is an American drama TV show created by Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin. It is produced by David Levien, Brian Koppelman, Christian Soriano, Andrew Ross Sorkin and Neil Burger. There are 4 seasons out currently and the 5th is ongoing. Billions first aired on Showtime on January 17th, 2016. The most recent season premiered on May 3rd, 2020 with episode 12 releasing on October 3rd, 2021. You must be wondering when episode 13 is releasing and why the showrunners aren’t telling us anything about it. This is because Billions season 5 episode 13 is not happening.
PLOT
Billions follow the life of Chuck Rhoades, a ruthless but sincere attorney based in southern New York. He goes head to head with the hedge fund kingpin Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod who also happens to be a 9/11 survivor. A legal battle ensues between them as they try to get a one-up over the other and outdo each other in the financial market.
Billions season 5 concluded with the 12th episode on Sunday. The makers of the show announced that episode 12 was the last episode and Billions season 5 episode 13 will not be airing. This obviously left fans confused and with a lot of questions. Before we reveal any further details, let’s recap episode 12 for you.
BILLIONS SEASON 5 EPISODE 12 RECAP
Previously we saw that Axe was trying to figure out the worst-case scenario for this crisis due to Fine Young Cannabis which could send him to jail. Though Axe is confident he is far from getting arrested, Chuck and Prince are busy celebrating Axe’s impending arrest. This somehow got leaked to the media and made a mess for Chuck to deal with. Axe confronts Chuck about why he is doing all this. Meanwhile, Taylor bade farewell to Rian hoping she won’t have to see her again.
While Chuck is making the final preparations for Axe’s arrest, a man on a bike came and gave Wagner a bag. We were then taken 40 hours into the past where we saw that Scooter was behind the leak. The episode ended with Axe landing in Switzerland and a confrontation between Chuck and Prince.
This was the last scene of season 5 and it left fans wanting more.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR CHUCK AND AXE?
Although season 5 has come to its conclusion, this is not the end of the story for the ruthless lawyer and hedge fund kingpin! The makers of the show and Showtime have already renewed Billions for a sixth season! What’s more, we already have a release date as well!
Billions season 6 episode 1 will air on January 23, 2022, on Showtime and that is when the saga will continue. We don’t know any details as to what season 6 will be about exactly but fans have their share of theories.
We think Axe will plan a retaliation because he isn’t one to give up so easily. It is also for us to wait and watch whether Wagner will join his friend or not.
There are many theories but what will actually happen remains to be seen.
